Center Parcs - Break-ins & theft

Considering a relaxing break at Center Parcs (Elveden) ?

Well you might want to know that there have been several of the chalets broken into over the past months, five in the last week. There have also been some expensive bikes stolen even though they were locked.

It seems that the most likely suspects are from the local towns or villages. They cut or climb the fence that surrounds the park.

Whilst there is security on site, there are very few of them and they are also doing other jobs which have little or nothing to do with the security of the park or persons on it.

Some of the chalets have safes in them, but not all.

The local police do not think that there is sufficient security at the parc, and it can do little to improve their crime figures.

Obviously Center Parcs are not telling people of these crimes which is understandable. But it seems that they are going out of their way to lie and hide the truth from people that have been affected or suspect something is wrong.

So, if you intend to stay at Elveden my advice would be this. Do not bring your own bike if it's worth a lot of money. Do not bring anything that can't be locked away or taken with you when you're out. Have good insurance cover just in case.

People deserve to know what is happening and not be lied to.

More updates if needs be.

Enjoy your holiday.
